Vegetables that are used like fruits

Vegetable is a comprehensive term for the edible parts of the herbaceous plants that are grown in the wild or cultivated. Contrary to plants or plant parts with those above all their accumulated materials (e.g. carbohydrates in potatoes) are used as a basis food is used vegetable is consumed as complementary food.

Vegetables are most notably different from fruit based on the fact that they are usually cooked and prepared before the consumption. The Middle High German term Gemüese (vegetable) is formed on the basis of Mus (mash) — thus the cooked pup. From a botanical point of view, plant parts are characterised as vegetables and individual fruits are fruit.

This study is only concerned about the vegetables that are availble in our assortment. These are the fruits, which one could categorize under the common ground of “fruit like vegetables”.
