It is a result of a crossbreeding between the Kidds’ Orange and Golden Delicious. It was selected in 1960 in New Zealand.
The apple is small to medium sized with a smooth skin and a spherical, very conical shape. It has a shiny-red, striped opaque colour over a light yellow base.
The fruit is firm and juicy and not very acidic with a sweet flavour.
During the middle of August.
In cold storage to until the end of December and in CA storage until the end of May.
The apple should ideally be consumed promptly, since it can lose its typical flavour after being stored for long periods of time.
