Pink Lady® is emanated from a cross breeding of Lady Williams and Golden Delicious, which was accomplished 1979 by John E. L. Cripps at the Western Department of Agriculture in Stoneville, Australia, and was published 1997 under variety-protection as Cripps’ Pink and under protection of trade marks as Pink Lady®. Thus the tree and the fruit are legally protected — without permission this apple may not be cultivated or brought to market.
The variety is medium sized and conical shaped. Their singular character it receives by the unmistakable pink colouration.
