Origin

The Jonagold was emanated from an American cross breeding between the varieties Golden Delicious and Jonathan, performed 1953 in the State of New York

Fruit

Jonagold has a green yellow primary colour with carmine, striped to washed-out opaque colour.

Flavour

The apple has a loose, firm flesh. It is juicy and aromatic and has a sweetish, fine sourish taste, which is to due to a well-balanced rate of sugar and acid.

Maturity

In the middle of Septembers.

Storage

In cold storage to at the end of Decembers, in CA storage until the end of July.

Recommendation

A delectable apple, which is suitable both for the fresh consumption and for baking, cooking, steaming and roasting.
