The Jonagold emanates from an American cross breeding between the Golden Delicious and Jonathan apples that was performed in the State of New York in 1953
Jonagold has a green-yellow primary colour base with a carmine, striped to washed-out opaque colour.
The apple has a loose, firm flesh. It is juicy and aromatic with a sweetish and fine sourish taste, which is attributed to well-balanced levels of sugar and acid.
From the middle of September.
In cold storage until the end of December and in CA storage until the end of July.
It is a delicious apple, which is suitable for both fresh consumption and baking, cooking, steaming and roasting.
