Origin

Idared was developed in the year 1935 in Idaho/USA from a cross breeding between Jonathan and Wagener Apple.

Fruit

The apple is medium sized to largely and uniformly round in shape. It has shining red to crimson striped to washed-out opaque colour on yellowish-greenish to white-yellow primary colour.

Flavour

It tastes somewhat mild tartish and has high content on vitamine C. The white to cream-coloured flesh is firm, very juicy and fresh.

Maturity

At the end of September.

Storage

In cold storage to to at the end of January, in CA storage until the end of June.

Recommendation

The Idared is very versatile in usage for table, cooking and baking and also is outstanding suitable due to its high productivity and low tanning agents for the production of juice. Beyond that it can be stored perfectly in household even for any length of time.
