The Fuji apple has its origin in Japan. It was bred 1939 in Morioka/Japan and developed from a cross breeding between the varieties Rall’s Janet and Red Delicious.
The Fuji has a gently pink to crimson, easily striped opaque colour on yellow-greenish primary colour. It is medium sized, compact and very juicy. An occasionally occurrence of easy glassyness attests to high sugar content.
The taste of the Fuji is extremely aromatic. The apple is firm and juicy sweet.

Due to its extraordinary sweetness and the firm flesh the Fuji becomes appreciated, particularly as addition in cakes or sweets.
